Summer fundraisers

Forest

We’ve made a lot of progress this past month and have finalized the details for the fundraisers planned for this summer.

  • If your calendar is free June 17th, dust off those runners and join us at Mitchells Bay for Hard Miles, our 5k walk/run!  Click here for details and registration.
  • The tractor parade — called “Shifting Gears” — is scheduled to roll through Dawn Euphemia Township on August 12th.  The details and registration for that event can be found here. Choose your wheels, sign up and shine ’er up for the big parade!

The money raised through these fundraisers will support ongoing programming for guests when they are staying at the cabin and following up with them once they return home. The programs will be designed and led by registered therapists who understand the psychological difficulties faced by Farmers and First Responders.

This understanding creates a true connection between the therapist and the Farmer or First Responder and is vitally important when building a relationship of trust. Programming will also include regular workshops held at the cabin, covering topics related to mental wellbeing. These workshops will be led by registered therapists.

Funds will also be set aside to enhance the trails in the woodlot.

We continue to be amazed at the support we’ve received from individuals, businesses and the community. The generosity shown to us through donations of time, money and materials from so many is humbling and healing.

Together we can make a difference.

We look forward to seeing you in person at the Hard Miles or Shifting Gears events this summer!
